Well, that was good, fair enjoyed Hibs scoring 4 goals, keeping another clean sheet, with a healthy crowd, against a pretty reasonable Berwick Rangers team, the oldest Rangers club in the Scottish Leagues. Hibernian under Alan Stubbs are going places, we are going to Hampden!
Usual rules, I didnae see it on the telly, you might have, so cut me some slack.
Oxley – Had a few early flaps as Hibs struggled to settled down but went on to keep yet another clean sheet. Well done Mark.
Gray – Strolled through the game with ease, I hope the injury sustained at the end is nothing serious, it looked a sore one.
Hanlon – Had a good steady game and plays very well beside Liam Fontaine.
Fontaine – Magnificent today, really has turned into an important player for Hibs. He has a bit of fitba about him, is graceful, strong and his headed goal from a corner for Hibs fourth was first class. Extend this guys contract please Hibs.
Stevenson – If you thought Liam Fontaine was magnificent, Lewis topped him. He set up the first and third goal, scored the second with some guts, effort and skill and had a fantastic game. Fully earned his man of the match at the game, and gets mine too. Lewis is the consummate Hibernian player.
Fyvie – Another diamond, Fraser was very good today, the laddie is a player and we need get him signed up.
Robertson – Did his job well, breaks up play, pushed passes or himself forward, becoming the midfield workhouse.
Allan – Scott came in and out of the game today, too many attempts at the world cup pass for me. I never mind when Scotty has an average game live on the telly, it keeps the vultures away.
McGeogh – I though Dylan was excellent today, not afraid to take a man on, make a pass and chases people down well. Another one I would love to see signed up on a long term deal.
Malonga – I thought he worked hard but it never really came off for him today?
Cummings – Jason was very good today, took his goal well, held the ball up, played some very decent passes and put in a very good shift. I think Stubbsy is shaping him into a very decent striker. Keep it up son.
Craig – On for Allan, had a poor first few minutes then settled down into a reasonable enough performance.
Stanton – On for McGeogh, I though Sammy was the most impressive of the subs and took his drilled 15 yard shot well to score the third.
Dje Dje – Last 12 minute cameo for Big Dom, didn’t get much chance to do anything, although nearly scored from a rebound after running the keeper down.
Stubbsy and Co – Got it right, paid respect to Berwick and ran out comfortable winners. This man is taking us places, as I said, Hampden here we come, get yourself booked up with Bounce tours , we are organising the buses and pre match facilities as I type.
Berwick- I thought they were a decent side, who played some football and probably didnae deserve the thumping the got. Then I listened to that Jambo balloon Colin Cameron, the Berwick manager on the radio driving home and my opinion changed. Tough Toly, yur oot ya jambo clown.
Man of the Match – The Magnificent Lewis Stevenson, sensational performance son.
Get yourselves along to Hampden, and witness the best Hibs team since we won the league cup in 2007.
Meantime, see you all at Easter road on Wednesday then Cowdenbeath on Saturday.
