The highs of Europe, the lows of the Lennon/ Club fall out and the highs of Hecky At The Wheel. I have to say, it is good being a Hibernian supporter again, arriving in the ground today my seat had a sticker on it thanking me for renewing my seat, looking around me, almost everyone had. Neither wonder, its 2 hours after the last game of the season and I cannot wait for that first pre season game in Arbroath!
We say goodbye to a hero in Marvin Bartley, the excellent Mark Milligan and loanees Marc McNulty, Stephie Omeonga, Thomas Agyepong, Ryan Guald, Adam Bogdan and I expect a few more. They go with my very best wishes, I will miss Marvin, he is so much better than that **** Paul Hartley.
Best bits of the season for me were the trip to Asteras Tripoli with Hibee nation, it was brilliant from start to finish, with John Boy leaving us with a great goal and a fantastic trip. Daryll Horgan at Tynecastle is up there too, along with £12 Fisk and Kips on a Cliff Side Pitch in the Faroes, the only time in my life I have paid for food at the fitba with my credit card. Talking of credit card payments there was the round in Molde that made a gown man weep and that legendary bus tour Shrink and I took after 8 £8 pints each, two bottles of red and a half bottle of Captain Morgans around Torshavn, saved on the night by the wife of the bus driver giving us a lift home to our hoose with balcony on a mountain above the cloud line on the other side of town. The torment of Neil Lennon leaving caused trouble in the support, we were stunned, hurt and confused. The club from Leeann downwards saved the day with the excellent selction of Paul Heckingbottom and Robbie Stockdale. They have brought our Hibs back, and whilst the shape isnae right just now, and we are a bit powder puff, I cannae wait to see the guys ain team next season, really cannae wait. Finally, we ended the season above the World War One Winners and League Winners (September and October 2018). Mind the Gap, Jambo Bastards, I say.
So to today’s game. I thought the Sheep started on the front foot for the fist ten, but we took command after that and deserved to be in front, Horgan lost Shinnie, left Sir David wid eiopen and they equalized. We missed too many good chances today and Aberdeen bettered us second half. Marvic coming on to replace Millie raised the roof and Sir David Gray showed why his our leader by giving Marv the Captains Armband. Aberdeen are tall, physical, and tough, yet they fall over at the very hint of a challenge and cheat. McInnes may be darling of the media but I hate watching his team and I am delighted for Killie, their Fans and Steve Clarke, they earned Europe because they play football. I do think we need to add a couple of big laddies to our team, good players like Shaw, urray and Slivka are easily brushed aside when we play Celtc and Aberdeen, we need to compete more. Protien and upper body work in the gym guys.
Rocky has been great second half of the season, great penalty save but I do thinjk his ball out caused the second goal. His, Daz and Sparky’s wee bairns post match make me proud to be a Hibby. The Hibernian Family.
Sir David Gray, Captain, my Captain. I thought he was excellent today, absolutely excellent capped by his passing the armband to Marv when he came on. To think the man who scored THAT goal in THAT game on the 21st of May 2016 still marches on, is simply wonderful.
Darren was a rock today, playing against the freak Cosgrove, he had to be.
Paul was OK today, a bit tocasual for me.
Lewis, like Sir Dave and Marvin really is a Hibernian legand. I though he did well again, its rare he doesn’t.
Mark Milligan played his final game for Hibs today. A graceful, skillful, hard tackling defensive midfielder, he joined our club 5 years too late. I wish him well on his return home and thank him, he played like a Hibs man, we cannot ask any more. You are welcome back anytime Mark.
Stevie Mallan for me has been Hibs most consistent player all season, same again today. Pity he no longer gets into the dead ball positions he did at the beginning of the season. He will get better next season, of that I am sure.
Daryll Horgan drifted in and out the game and looked puggled most of the second half. I like him, a tanner baw player is nice to have. Post match and he takes his top off, by Sauzee I hope he has bought factor 50 for his holidays! Buíochas a ghabháil leat deartháir!
Stephane Omeonga has quickly become a Hibs man. i really really hope he is back at Hibs next year. With Genoa dropping into the relegation postions in Italy with one game to go and 40 players out on loan, fingers crossed Steph continues his development at Hibs.
Fraser Murray showed what we know he has today. His pas for Sparky’s goal was a joy to behold. I hope he becomes a regular. good laddie, lovely, graceful football player.
Sparky scored, that is all we ask of him. he needs a partner to help him. Like Steph, I hope we pull out all the stops to give him a long deal,, he fts in.
OHHHH MARVIN BARTLEY, IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT **** PAUL HARTLEY, MARVIN BARTLEY, MARVIN BARTLEY!!!! Replaced Millie and played well, I will miss him, a HIbs man, he bleeds green like the rest of us.
Weird on for me was Shaw for Horgan when Agyepong was on the bench. I want Ollie ot succeed, but.
Slivka came on for Omeonga and I thought done very well.
Hecky and Robbie corrected the errors of last week and in a very honest interview Derek McInnes complimented Hibs in our play and desire to win. Good as last week had be miffed. Well done boss. I enjoy Hecky at the Wheel and cannot wait to see your team in six weeks!
Aberdeen are a bit like the Gunts, not good to watch. Pah, we need to be above them next season, playing the Hibernian way. They didnt sell half a stand out, delighted Killie pipped them for 3rd but hope the Mutton Molesters are in europe this time next weekend!
The referee was one in a long line of incompotent fecking idiots. What is new?
A big Crowd for Big Team in a meaningless game. The Puddle Drinkers sold 46 tickets for their trip to Celtc. Take a bow Hibs fans, WE ARE HIBERNIAN FC!!
My man of the match today was not easy, but for me our captain David Gray earned the honour with a close seconds from Rocky Marciano and Daz’s we laddie at the end!
Before I sign off, tales and gossip I heard today, make of it what you will. Flo Kamberi to Scumderland, Dylan coming home in return? Slivka has been offered an extended contract and if my Auntie Mary had a boaby, she would be my Uncle Dode! Make of it what you will.
Thanks for reading my slavering, see you all next season, behind the goals, online or at an away ground of your choice.
God Bless Ma, God Bless Pa, God Bless Hibernian, ra ra ra!!
