Deary me Hibs, 3-1 up and on easy street, should have been four, maybe five and what do we do, stop playing and let Falkirk come back into it to the extent we were lucky to hold on for a draw. The defense had a communal stinker, switching McGeogh and Allan’s positions, meant we got a lot from the very good McGeoch and almost nothing from the normally excellent Allan. Boyle missed an open goal after doing the hard bit, Fontaine had at least three good chances to score and didn’t, Oxley had three very good saves but was at fault for two of the goals. Overall, a very, very frustrating outcome on a weekend that just aint going right for me at all, however I do think the third Hibernian goal was a wonderful bit of football from Allan, Boyle and Cummings.
The team…

Oxley – Had a couple of excellent and one good save, but was useless at the goals.

Stevenson – Done OK at left back, he always does.

Hanlon – I thought he was poor today.

Fontaine – Had a decent first half but was poor second half, no idea why. Should have scored on a number of occassions and didnae.

Booth – Done ok at right back going forward but two of the goals game in from his side.

Robertson – I actually though he was decent today and got stuck in, although he tends to dwell on the ball a little.

Allan – Very quiet game from Scott, I think he would have been better in McGeogh’s position.

Craig – I thought he did ok today in a very competitive midfield battle, unlucky with his own goal.

McGeogh – Did well today, although he did lose the ball a little too much. He would have been better in Scott Allan’s position, we got that one wrong.

Cummings – Scored a hatrick and did what he is paid for. Was given the 12th man’s man of the match, he had to for scoring three.

Boyle – Looked ok, his peach of a ball for the third goal was first class, but he should have scored into an open goal after round McDonald at 3-1. That may have cost us all three points there.

Subs

Handling – Came on for Allan, not something I wish to have to type very often I am afraid.

DjeDje – On for Boyle and looks like he has something there, although lacking a bit of fitness.

Stubbs and co – Well, I think he got it right then let it all go so very wrong. We lost Scott Allan in accomodating McGeoch, we cannae afford to lose Scott Allan and we should have killed the game off a 3-1, we didn’t, and that is a mistake.

Ref – Willie Collum was never very good, he is now useless.

Falkirk – I thought they were very good, they came to take the game to us, and did for parts of it, indeed they might of stole all three points. Some decent players and play nice football, they earned their draw.

My man of the match was Cummings for his hatrick. McGeoch was decent too.
